Ilona

Ilona has been struggling with a severe addiction for a long time. After many years on the street, she was initially afraid to move into her own apartment. Now, she says, she has everything she needs—yet she often feels lonely in her home and misses the people she once knew on the streets. When asked what might have prevented her from becoming homeless back then, she says: “Someone who could listen, who wouldn’t look down on me, and who was a little sensitive.”
